MassMutual Center: Events, Tickets and Visitor Planning

MassMutual Center is at 1277 Main Street in downtown Springfield, MA 01103. The venue combines an arena and convention center and is owned by the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and managed by MGM Springfield. Its downtown location is minutes from hotels, bus stations and train stations, according to the venue.

The arena has 8,000 seats and 19,000 square feet of floor space. The convention center adds 100,000 square feet, so the site accommodates both arena events and larger gatherings. For a separate local venue guide, see the Paramount Theater Springfield guide.

The venue’s event listings offer a View All Events option, with event details and, when available, links to buy tickets or find more information.

The arena is home to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League and also hosts concerts, comedy shows, family shows, graduations, speaking engagements and sporting events. The venue says it hosts over 100 arena events annually.

For box office questions, call 413-787-6600. The box office is listed as open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with extended hours on event days that vary. Accessible seating tickets can be purchased through the box office or venue website.

Check the official site before you go for current event listings, ticket availability, box office information and event-specific details.

For arena events, enter through the Box Office entrance on Bruce Landon Way; the elevator is at that entrance. All guests need a valid ticket to enter, and the venue says guests cannot leave and re-enter after their ticket has been scanned.

The venue lists a no-bag policy with exceptions for a clutch or purse no larger than 5 by 7 inches, a medical bag, and a diaper bag when a child is attending.

Its prohibited-items list includes interchangeable-lens or external-flash cameras, recording devices, selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, outside food and drink, containers and bottles, laptops and tablets, weapons and illegal substances.

Children under age two are admitted free for most events if they sit on a lap, although some events require a ticket for children age 12 months or older. Check the event’s requirements as you plan.

Accessible seating is available subject to availability for patrons with disabilities and up to three companions; the venue advises making requests in advance. Assisted listening devices are available on request. To arrange one, call 413-787-6610 two days before the event.

MassMutual Center is about a nine-minute drive from Riverdale Inn, making it a nearby destination if you’re staying at the hotel for an event.

The venue’s driving directions give routes for both directions on I-91: take Exit 5, formerly Exit 6, for Springfield Center when travelling north; when travelling south, take Exit 5B, formerly Exit 7, for Hall of Fame Avenue, Downtown and Springfield.

The venue also identifies PVTA bus routes and times and Union Station for rail passenger service. If you’re using public transport, check the relevant operator for current route and service details.

The Convention Center Carpark beside MassMutual Center is open to the public. The venue also points drivers to lots and garages run by the Springfield Parking Authority. For more event-day parking and arrival details, see this MassMutual Center parking guide.

Limited complimentary accessible street parking is available in city street accessible spaces on Dwight Street, State Street, Main Street and Court Street. These spaces are first-come, first-served. You can also check PVTA for bus routes and times or use Union Station for rail passenger service.
